Data Mining for Industrial and Environmental Applications

Soft Computing (SOCO) is becoming a consolidated discipline that provides consistent results in a wide variety of application areas. Thus, SOCO faces real-world problems by applying multiple techniques, showing multiple strengths when solving particularly tough problems.

In this sense, the aim of this special session is to present research conducted on data mining and, in particular, on approaches focused on solving environmental and industrial-related problems. Thus, the scope of this session covers data mining aspects, including algorithms and systems with particular attention to their application to real-world issues. Novel methodologies are also encouraged to be submitted.

  1. Machine learning techniques and algorithms applied to industrial or environmental problems
  2. Pattern recognition in industrial or environmental problems
  3. Data mining for complex data (temporal data, spatial data, multimedia, streaming data) in industrial or environmental problems
  4. Novel data mining algorithms and their application to industrial or environmental problems
